OH NO! GO SLOW, FLO!

Florence Flooch (who was known as Flo)
Found it impossible to go slow
Her Mum and Dad would frown and worry
Because Flo was always in a hurry
She wouldn’t walk to school, she’d run
Overtaking EVERYONE!
If another child got in her way
Her Mum and Dad would shout and say

“OH NO! GO SLOW, FLO!”

At school she’d zoom into her class
And learn the subject really fast
She made the teachers really dizzy
By being speedy, quick and whizzy
In just a minute she’d learned the lesson
And she could read a book in fifteen seconds!
All her work was done before morning play
Which is why her teachers would sigh and say

“OH NO! GO SLOW, FLO!”

At mealtimes she could never wait
To finish the food upon her her plate
Before everyone sat down to eat
Flo was up and on her feet!
She ate her meals so fast, you see
By lunchtime she’d already had her tea!
Nothing could make Flo stop and stay
Which is why her Gran would moan and say

“OH NO! GO SLOW, FLO!”

“Why walk when you can run instead?”
Was the thought inside her head
“There’s nothing better than being fast;
You’ll never see me coming last!
I don’t care if people frown
I’m never EVER slowing down!
I’ll keep running every day
And I won’t listen when they say…”

“OH NO! GO SLOW, FLO!”

Florence Flooch (who was known as Flo)
The girl who never could go slow
The girl no one could ever beat
Grew up to be a great athlete
She never changed, just to fit in
She believed that she could run and win
So the crowd all shouted out her name
As she won Gold at the Olympic Games…

“FLO! FLO! GO! GO! GO!”
